Propulsive Wing worked with Allred & Associates and the Indoor Air Quality Laboratory at Syracuse University to design and fabricate a custom filter testing device. Propulsive Wing specializes in the inclusion of computational fluid dynamics analysis within the product design cycle, utilizing the state-of-the-art CFD software Star-CCM+ from CD-ADAPCO. For this project, several different geometries were simulated to optimize flow distribution within the five test chamber tubes, as well as ensure proper mixing of particles within the main box.

This piece of equipment is capable of measuring filter pressure drop, particle removal efficiency, and flow rate in five independent test chamber tubes simultaneously.
